IC-A3
Portable VHF COM transceiver

Previous portable air band transceivers weren't so "portable." The IC-A3/E portable VHF COM transceiver ushers in a new era in compact. But don't let its size fool you, design ingenuity has produced a portable with superior high audio output (audio that's easy to hear even without a headset.)

Details: The IC-A3E is truly portable featuring superior audio output that’s easy to hear even without a headset. The sidetone function allows the use of a simple, inexpensive headset adapter to monitor your transmitted audio. An aircraft headset adapter is supplied as standard with the IC-A3/E for this purpose.

The IC-A3E’s is quite simple to use and its function display features alphanumeric characters that can be used for convenient display of airport names, call signs, etc. for up to 50 memories. When you want to view frequencies instead, toggling between the two display types is a snap. In addition, lockout information can be programmed into memories for scanning purposes. An Ergonomic keypad design provides convenient access to all functions and a rotary control allows quick tuning of its 760 COM Channels.

Other features include:
  >
One-touch selection of the 121.5 MHz emergency frequency.  LCD and keypad back lighting for night-time operation.  Versatile scanning capabilities.  DC connector allows operation with a 12 to 15 V DC power source.
Powerful 5W of output power.  FET power module provides stable operation at high duty cycles.  Rugged die-cast aluminium chassis and polycarbonate casing.  ANL (automatic noise limiter) function to reduce pulse-type noise.  Low Battery Indicator.  Weight: 465q

IC-A4

IC-A4
Portable VHF COM transceiver

Receive 108.000 to 136.975 MHz (receives all 760 channels)  *  Transmit 118.000 to 136.975 MHz  *  19 memory channels  *  Alphanumeric display for quick channel identification  *  Backlit display for day or night operation

Memory or VFO Operation
This private pilot version of the IC-A4 can receive and transmit in VFO mode for on the fly channel selection.

Memory channels

EEPROM (non-volatile memory) retains memory channel information if the power runs out, or the radio is turned off. There's no need to re-enter the settings... ever!

The IC-A4 is tough!

The IC-A4 features a rugged, die-cast aluminum chassis, and a super-tough polycarbonate front panel.

Compact size.

- Small enough to comfortably fit inside a pocket, and yet the built-in loud speaker is audible in the most noisy of cockpits.

- Side-tone permits hearing your own transmitted audio while using a standard aviation headset.
-
Optional 1050 mAh battery is available for extra operating time. The optional battery has the same physical size as the supplied 700 mAh battery.
-
Optional AA alkaline (or AA Ni-Cd) battery case allows operation using affordable and easy to obtain AA alkaline cells.

Other features include:
Dimensions: 58(W) x 140.5(H) x 32.3(D) mm
Weight: (with battery and antenna): 425 g

IC-A22
Portable VHF NAV/COM transceiver
The IC-A22E is an extra compact VHF aviation transceiver that features excellent audio quality on the COM side and a VOR receiver with CDI function on the NAV side. Check and compare the dimensions of the IC-A22E with other so-called portable transceivers?

Details: Compared to previous portable air band transceivers, the IC-A22E is truly portable featuring superior audio output that’s easy to hear even without a headset. The IC-A22E also has a built in side-tone function that allows you to monitor your transmitted audio while using a headset. An aircraft headset adapter is supplied with the IC-A22/E for this purpose as standard.

The IC-A22E’s is quite simple to use and its function display features alphanumeric characters that allow you to store VOR ID’s etc into memory for easy recall and quick visual recognition. The set has an ergonomically designed keypad that provides convenient access to all functions. A rotary control allows quick and easy tuning of all frequency and memory channels.

The IC-A22E navigational features include a CDI (Course Deviation Indicator) which shows deviation from original set course at a glance and a ABSS (Automatic Bearing Set System) the identifies the direct radial to the VOR.

Other features include:
  >  All 200 navigation channels  >  50 memories with alphanumeric message capabilities.  >  One touch selection of the 121.5 MHz emergency frequency.  >  Versatile scanning capabilities including a lockout function.  >  DC connector allows operation with a 12 to 15 V DC power source.  >  Powerful 5W of output power.  >  FET power module provides stable operation at high duty cycles.  >  Rugged die cast aluminium chassis and polycarbonate casing for extraordinarily rugged use.  >  ANL (automatic noise limiter) function.  >  Low battery indicator and over voltage caution indicator.  >  Weight 465g

IC-A23
VHF Air Band Transceiver (NAV + COM)

ICOM is the name pilots have come to know and trust. Fly the airwaves with the latest ICOM airband transceiver! Measuring only 58(W) x 107(H) x 28.5(D) mm, it is nearly half the size of the IC-A22, and another third as small as the IC-A21. Yet, it is every inch an ICOM, chock full of the useful features you've come to rely on. Its palm size is very convenient for carrying on your belt with the supplied belt clip.

Navigation: The IC-A23 has a VOR navigation function, which indicates the bearing to or from the VOR station. A Course Deviation Indicator (CDI) shows the deviation between your flying course and the desired course. In CDI mode, the ABSS (Auto Bearing Set System) function allows you to center your flying course in one touch. The IC-A23 is capable of semi-duplex operation in navigation mode.

Ergonomic design
: Well labeled and well spaced keys are easy to operate, even while wearing gloves. The back mounted battery puts the weight of the unit in your palm, allowing a comfortable grip. The wide and large LCD lets you see every readout at a glance.

Easy controls
: Volume and channel selection can be controlled by the rotary selector on the top panel, or Up/Down switches on the front. You can change the assignment at your convenience. The volume level and channel number are displayed during adjustment.

Voice recorder:
Received conversation can be recorded and played back with the built-in voice recorder. Recorded contents can be transmitted and kept even with power off, or when the battery is discharged.

Water resistant: The IC-A23 has water resistant construction, equivalent to JIS-4 grade, which allows safe operation in rainy conditions.
